What is depression?

Depression is like a thick fog.
It is impossible to see through it as it distorts perception, slows time, and enlarges spaces isolating yourself from reality.
You feel so slow as everyone around you is passing by smoothly and fast. But you are still there, stuck in the middle of a void, trying to move forward, but nothing as everything seems to be so heavy. What is happening? Is what I am looking at real? Am I dreaming? What is real?
When I am depressed, I’m like a puppet, a slave to myself.

The metaphor

The jewel was created with the intention of highlighting a filter that would normally be invisible and imperceptible. The multitude of metal wires creates an ephemeral cage, a filter in fact, through which the wearer sees a distorted reality.
The jewelry consists of two parts: a circular band that wraps around the forehead and metal “arms” that connect to it. The two elements’ interconnection creates knots and spikes, symbolically representing bolts stuck in the head and difficult to remove.
