Dark rise

The art installation comes from the elaboration of the theme of superheroes. In particular, the atmosphere develops from the psychology of the chosen character, in this case, Magneto.
Starting from a supervillain’s idea, the installation is therefore a sensory and psychological journey where the user must first feel oppressed, frightened, and uncertain. In the second part of the artwork, there is a narrow staircase where visitors experience the ascent of something unknown. Through an imposing golden door, there is access to the dark throne. Everyone can see people under their feet and feel powerful.

The metaphor

The entire path inside the exhibition is formed by rigid and soft panels, creating a labyrinth that visitors can walk through. Inside the maze, there are mannequins, which will light intermittently, a guards’ conceptual transposition. The path is designed to create a sense of oppression that, step by step, flows into full awareness of the self to result in a rise to power: the “dark rise.”
